Fall 2020 Training Program Day 1

So the first day of the fitness kick-starter wasn’t great. I was slated to do The Long Scream in The Sufferfest, which I did. But it had me set at 40% effort, which is a full workout under 100 watts, which is not what I need or want right now. Maybe they’re taking it easy on me with the notion that I’m literally starting from zero? Having been at this for three weeks now, this isn’t quite what I was looking for.

About 22 minutes in, I dialed it up to 100% effort, which you can see here. I got my heart rate up to 150 or so, which also isn’t the effort I was looking for.

And I’m still questioning my FTP setting, and may increase it up toward 170-180, or do another FTP test, like the Half Monty.

Tomorrow is an off-day according to the training schedule, which I’ll probably ignore and add in a cycling workout.

Or maybe I’ll do some weight training, which I’ve been meaning to bring into the mix.

And then there’s this head-cold I’ve got coming on and I’ve been ignoring, and maybe that’ll knock me out. Nah.
